Fresh twist on veggie pizza
Are you bored of regular pepperoni pizza? We know. We are too. Here are some fresh ideas for your next pizza, and the ingredients are straight from your garden! Choose your favorite whole wheat crust, cheese, and pizza sauce, then add these delicious toppings. Of course, the toppings can vary depending on what you have in the garden, but here are some combinations that we love.
1. Red and yellow peppers, zucchini, red onion, and rosemary. Use half a red pepper, half yellow pepper, small zucchini, and small red onion. Simply toss in olive oil, add rosemary, and heat in an oven for about 20 minutes (or until soft) in 400F. This is a colorful pizza, perfect for summer!
2. Parmesan, artichokes, black olives and red pepper. Drizzle the artichokes in olive oil, and pan-fry the red peppers before topping.
3. Spinach and sun-dried tomato. Be sure to use chunky mozzerella for this recipe, not shredded! Drizzle spinach with olive oil and scatter sun dried tomato on top! This adds a little bit of tang to a classic pizza.
